Bambini-Code

Bambini Code was the national military pilot training in the language network of the Swiss Air Force. It developed from the need to communicate via radio links with poor quality in noisy environments clearly. The terms used were chosen so that they were phonetically as clearly as possible. Since vocally rich words meet this requirement best Italian language has been chosen as often as this brings this property by nature.

The Bambini code was replaced in 1998 by the usual in NATO brevity code, because common training presupposes the same language. At the same time the use of metric units of measurement in the navigation of the Swiss Air Force was completed, the amount will be indicated in feet, distance in miles and speed in knots, only the fuel level is still given in liters and not gallons.

The Bambini Code does but still use in the aerobatic team Patrouille Suisse and the PC - 7 Team.

Not to be confused with the " Bambino shooting " ( simplified shooting method for non- gunners shooting as commander of the Swiss Army )
