Bamra
Bamra was a princely state of British India in what is now the state of Odisha. Its capital was the site of Deogarh.
According to legend, the first Raja of Bamra was a member of the ruling family of Patna, who had been raped as a child by the tribes of the Bhuiyas and Khonds and placed on the throne. From the beginning of the 19th century until 1947 Bamra was a British protectorate.
1889-94 had Bamra a state with its own postal stamps. It had in 1935 an area of 5149 km ² and 151,000 inhabitants.
The Raja joined in August 1947, the Eastern States Union. On 1 January 1948 this union was dissolved and was Bamra Orissa India and thus incorporated. On November 1, 1956 all princely states were resolved.
