Ban Chang District

Amphoe Ban Chang ( in Thai: อำเภอ บ้านฉาง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Rayong. The Rayong province is located in the eastern region of central Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts (from west clockwise): Amphoe Sattahip and the Bang Lamung Chonburi Province and Amphoe Mueang Rayong Nikhom Phatthana and Amphoe of Rayong province. To the south lies the Gulf of Thailand.

History

Ban Chang was originally Tambon Mueang Rayong Phala in Amphoe. Since the United States used the Utapao airport as an airbase since 1963, the number of residents grew quickly. Therefore, the government established on 7 May 1976, the sub-district ( King Amphoe ) Ban Chang by two tambon were separated from Amphoe Mueang. On March 16, 1985, he got the full Amphoe status.

Management

The circle is divided into 3 subdistricts (tambon ), which are further subdivided into 22 villages ( Muban ).

Ban Chang itself ( Thai: เทศบาล เมือง บ้านฉาง ) has a town status ( thesaban Mueang ), it consists of parts of tambon Ban Chang and Phla.

Furthermore, there are three small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Samnak Thon ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล สำนัก ท้อ น ) consists of parts of the tambon Samnak Thon,
  • Ban Chang ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บ้านฉาง ) consists of parts of tambon Ban Chang,
  • Phla ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล พ ลา ) consists of parts of the tambon Phla.

There is also a " Tambon Administrative Organization" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - Administrative Organisation) in the district.
