Ban Dan Lan Hoi District

Amphoe Ban Dan Lan Hoi ( Thai อำเภอ บ้านด่านลานหอย ) is a district ( Amphoe ) in the province ( Changwat ) Sukhothai in Northern Thailand.

Geography

The Amphoe Ban Dan Lan Hoi is located in the southwestern province of Sukhothai. It is the only Amphoe province, which borders three other provinces.

Amphoe Ban Dan Lan Hoi is seen from the north clockwise surrounded by the following Amphoe Thung Saliam, Si Samrong, Mueang Sukhothai and Khiri Mat in the province of Sukhothai, Phran Kratai in the province of Kamphaeng Phet, Mueang Tak and Ban Tak in Tak Province and Thoen in the province of Lampang.

History

At the time of the Kingdom of Sukhothai was in the area of ​​today's Amphoe the Western camp of the guards. The nearby village was called at the time Ban Lan Khoi ( บ้าน ลาน คอย ), and today's debate Ban Lan Hoi.

In the Rattanakosin period, the Ministry of Interior ( Mahatthai ) erected a new tambon ( sub-district ) called Ban Dan. 1909 Ban Dan was raised within the city administration of Sukhothai, before 1916, the district administration moved into the Tambon Lan Hoi to King Amphoe (small district). Later, after the great highway to Tak, the Tscharot Withi Thong Street was completed, the district administration was re-established in Tambon Ban Dan.

The present name was Ban Dan Lan Hoi in 1939. Ban Dan Lan The King Amphoe Hoi was eventually upgraded in 1973 to Amphoe.

Management

Amphoe Ban Dan Lan Hoi consists of seven sub-districts ( tambon), which further into 70 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Lan Hoi ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ลาน หอย ) consists of parts of the tambon Lan Hoi,
  • Taling Chan ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ตลิ่งชัน ) consists of the whole Tambon Taling Chan.

There are also six " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations).
