Ban Khwao District

Amphoe Ban Khwao ( Thai: อำเภอ บ้านเขว้า ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Chaiyaphum. The Chaiyaphum Province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

Neighboring districts (from north clockwise): Amphoe Nong Bua Daeng which, Mueang Chaiyaphum, Noen Sa -nga, and Nong Bua Rawe Chatturat. All Amphoe located in the province of Chaiyaphum.

History

Ban Khwao was born on January 1, 1955 initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by the two Tambon Ban Talat Khwao and Raeng Amphoe Mueang Chaiyaphum were separated from. On July 23, 1957 Ban Khwao got the full Amphoe status.

Economy

The area around Ban Khwao is known for the production of Thai silk high quality.

Management

The circle is divided into six subdistricts (tambon ), which are further subdivided into 94 villages ( Muban ).

There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Ban Khwao ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บ้านเขว้า ) consists of parts of tambon Ban Khwao,
  • Thung Thong ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ทุ่ง ทอง ) also consists of parts of the tambon Ban Khwao.

There are also five " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
