Ban Na Doem District

Amphoe Ban Na Doem ( Thai: อำเภอ บ้านนาเดิม ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the center of the province ( Changwat ) Surat Thani. The Surat Thani Province is located in the southern region of Thailand, about 650 km south of Bangkok on the east coast of the Malay Peninsula to the Gulf of Thailand.

Geography

Neighbouring districts (from north clockwise): Amphoe Mueang Surat Thani to Ban Na San, Khian Sa and Phunphin. All Amphoe located in the province of Surat Thani.

The Maenam Tapi ( Tapi River ) forms part of the western border of the circle. A smaller river called Khlong Lamphun ( คลอง ลำพูน ).

History

The Lamphun district, one of the original districts of the province Surat Thaniwurde vpon the town of Ban Na of managed, which is the center of the circle Ban Na Doem today. On July 1, 1938, the administration was transferred to Na San, the following year, the group was renamed in Ban Na San.

On April 15, 1976, the area around Ban Na Tit separated from the district of Ban Na San, made ​​him a new sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established. The sub-district originally consisted of the two Tambon Ban Na, Tha Ruea. On August 15, 1982, Tambon Tha Sap Thawi Ruea, on 1 July 1983 Na Tai was separated from Ban Na. On 21 May 1990, the sub-district has been promoted to Amphoe.

Management

Amphoe Ban Na Doem is divided into four communities ( tambon), which are further subdivided into 30 villages ( Muban ).

Ban Na ( เทศบาล ตำบล บ้านนา ) is also the name of a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district, it consists of parts of tambon Ban Na and Na Tai.

There are also four " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
