Ban Na San District

Ban Na San ( Thai: บ้านนาสาร ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the southeastern province ( Changwat ) Surat Thani, Southern Thailand. The Surat Thani province lies some 650 kilometers south of Bangkok on the east coast of the Malay Peninsula to the Gulf of Thailand.

Geography

Neighbouring districts ( from east clockwise): Amphoe Nopphitam and the Phipun in the province of Nakhon Si Thammarat and Amphoe Wiang Sa, Khian Sa, Ban Na Doem, Mueang Surat Thani and Kanchanadit Surat Thani province.

To the east of the county are the foothills of the Nakhon Si Thammarat mountain range, there is the National Park Tai Rom Yen.

History

The history of the district dates back to the time of the district of Lamphun, the former administrative unit of the southeastern part of the present province of Surat Thani was. Originally it was divided into seven Tambon - Ban Na, Tha Ruea ( ท่าเรือ ) Kobkaeb ( กอบ แก บ ), Thung Tao, I- Panm ( อิ ปัน ) Prasaeng and Phanom. In 1899, the southern part of Amphoe Phrasaeng and the sub-district ( King Amphoe ) Phanom was made.

Originally the district of Nakhon Si Thammarat was administered from 1906 he was (now Surat Thani ) transferred to Chaiya.

On 29 April 1918, the district was renamed in Ban Na, after the place where there was the administration. On 1 July 1938, the administration was transferred to Na San and eventually renamed on April 20, 1939 in Ban Na San.

In the 1970s, the size of the circle reduced further than today's Amphoe Khian Sa, Wiang Sa and Ban Na Doem were separated.

Management

Amphoe Ban Na San is divided into 11 communes ( tambon), which in turn in 65 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

Na San ( เทศบาล เมือง นา สาร ) is also the name of a city ( Mueang thesaban ) in the district, it consists of the whole Tambon Na San

In addition, there are ten " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
