Ban Rai District

Amphoe Ban Rai ( Thai อำเภอ บ้านไร่ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) of the province of Uthai Thani. The Uthai Thani Province is located in the northern region of Thailand.

Geography

The county Ban Rai covers more than half the area of the province of Uthai Thani. He is the third largest county in Thailand. A large part of the county is occupied by the Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Reserve.

Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise): Amphoe Mae Poen in the province of Nakhon Sawan, the Amphoe Lan Sak, Huai Khot and Nong Chang the province of Uthai Thani, the Amphoe Nong Mamong, Hankha and Noen Kham province of Chainat, Amphoe Dan Chang in the province of Suphanburi, Amphoe Si Sawat and the Thong Pha Phum in Kanchanaburi province and Umphang Tak Province.

Economy

In the district of Ban Rai, among other hand-woven cotton fabrics are produced which are mixed with silk threads. These fabrics with traditional patterns are a five-star OTOP product.

Management

The circle is divided into 13 subdistricts (tambon ), which are divided further into 134 villages ( Muban ).

There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Ban Rai ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บ้านไร่ ) consists of the Tambon Ban Rai and Ban Bueng.
  • Mueang Ka Rung ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เมือง กา รุ้ง ) consists of parts of Tambon Mueang Ka Rung.

In addition, there are twelve " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
