Bananas is the 17th studio album by the English rock band Deep Purple. It was published in October 2003 by EMI Records (worldwide ) or Sanctuary Records (USA).

History

The album is the first with keyboardist Don Airey. It was recorded with producer Michael Bradford in Los Angeles in January and February 2003. In the song Haunted by Beth Hart was the first time a female backing vocals heard; ever Ian Gillan was first accompanied by another person in the background vocals. As a songwriter was Jon Lord, who had previously left the band, still involved in two songs: Picture of Innocence and I Got Your Number. The album reached including Germany and Argentina are amongst the top ten.

Reception

The website Allmusic awarded 4 out of 5 stars. David Jeffries wrote, surprisingly - after the departure of Jon Lord - the album was "fantastic". " Filled with hooks and songs did get better with each listen, there 's little to dislike about Bananas. "
