Banco National Park

The Banco National Park, established in 1953, is the oldest national park of the west African state of Ivory Coast; he is on the Autoroute du Nord in the community Attécoubé in the northwest of the agglomeration of Abidjan, the former capital.

The more than 3,000 hectare forest area has typical plant and animal species as genuine mahogany and a few chimpanzees. It is traversed by the river of the same name, which flows into the Baie du Banco.

The park is primarily a recreation area of the inhabitants of Abidjan. A road network is maintained and there are accommodation options. In addition, picnic areas, a restaurant and an arboretum exist.
