Bandama River

The Bandama is an approximately 1000 km long river in the central Ivory Coast in West Africa. It arises from the springing in the 900 m high dry savannah headwaters White Bandama ( or French Bandama Blanc) and Red Bandama ( Marahoué, French Bandama Rouge), which unite southeast of Bouafle.

The current flowing southward flow is fed by the tributaries Solomougou, Kan and Nzi flows through the Kossoustausee, which was formed in 1973 by the construction of the dam at Kossou Kossou, and then empties into the lagoon Tagba on the Gulf of Guinea. The Bandama is the longest river in the Ivory Coast.
