Bandl's ring

The Bandl ring, also Bandl contraction ring, Bandl bead, called Bandl - furrow or furrow Bandl'sche, was by Ludwig Bandl (1842-1892), an Austrian gynecologist and obstetrician who first described. It is a muscular ring that occurs due to the contracture of the upper uterine segment in pregnancy and is often to be seen through the abdominal wall. The ascent of Bandl ring indicates an impending uterine rupture ( Gebärmutterzerreißung ).
