Bandung Institute of Technology
The Institute Teknologi Bandung ( ITB short ) is a technical college in Bandung, Indonesia.
History
It was founded in 1920 and is the oldest technology- oriented university in Indonesia. It was te of the Dutch colonial administration as Technical Hoogeschool Bandung ( THB) established to meet the needs of technical resources of the colony. On 3 July 1920, the " van Faculteit Technical tuur en Wetenschap " took (Faculty of Technical Sciences ) with the afdeeling the way en Waterbouw ( Department of Road and Water ) the teaching on. After the independence of Indonesia in 1945, she became part of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Indonesia in Jakarta. On 2 March 1959, the ITB was officially recognized as an independent academic institution by the Government of Indonesia.
