Bang Ban District

Amphoe Bang Ban ( Thai: อำเภอ บางบาล ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) of Ayutthaya province. The Ayutthaya Province located in the central region of Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise): Amphoe Pa Mok Ang Thong province, Amphoe Bang Pahan and, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Bang Sai, Sena and Phak Hai Ayutthaya province.

History

The district of Bang Ban was initially established in 1940 as Amphoe Sena Nai. Later, Mr. Khiaw Bangban a piece of land donated to the administration building could be built, the government agreed to rename the county after the family name of the donor, Bang Ban.

Administrative divisions

Amphoe Bang Ban is divided into 16 communes ( tambon), these are further subdivided into 111 villages ( Muban ).

There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Ban Bang ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บางบาล ) consists of parts of the tambon Bang Ban, Sai Noi, Bang Luang Dot, Bang Hak Bang Chani and Ban Kum
  • Maha Phram ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล มหา พราหมณ์ ) consists of parts of tambon Wat Yom, Saphan Thai and Maha Phram.

There are still four Tambon Administration Organizations ( " Tambon Administrative Organizations" - TAO, Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล )
