Bang Bo District

Amphoe Bang Bo ( Thai อำเภอ บางบ่อ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the eastern part of the province of Samut Prakan in Central Thailand.

Geography

The neighboring districts are (from west clockwise): Amphoe Mueang Samut Prakan which, Bang Phli and Bang Sao Thong Samut Prakan province, Lat Krabang ( a Khet Bangkok ), Amphoe Mueang Chachoengsao and Ban Pho Bang Pakong and the province Chachoengsao. In the south, the coast is the Gulf of Thailand.

History

The district was renamed in 1930 by Bang Hia ( บาง เหี้ย ) in Bang Bo.

Management

Amphoe Bang Bo is divided into eight municipalities ( tambon), which in turn in 74 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

There are three small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Bang Bo ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บางบ่อ ) consists of parts of the tambon same name,
  • Khlong Dan ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล คลอง ด่าน ) consists of parts of the tambon same name,
  • Khlong Suan ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล คลอง สวน ) consists of the whole Tambon Khlong Suan.

In addition, there are seven " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
