Bang Lamung District

Amphoe Bang Lamung ( Thai: อำเภอ บางละมุง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the southern part of the province of Chonburi. The Chonburi province is located in the eastern region of central Thailand. The largest and most famous city in Amphoe this is Pattaya.

Geography

The neighboring Amphoe are from clockwise from the North: Amphoe Si Racha Chonburi province, the Amphoe Pluak Daeng, Nikhom Phatthana, and Ban Chang Rayong province. To the south is Amphoe Sattahip Chonburi province, bordered to the west of the county by the Gulf of Thailand.

History

In the past, Mueang Bang Lamung in Ban Bang Lamung, Tambon Bang Lamung was. Later, Bang Lamung was the administration building was a district on the bank of Khlong Nok Yang. When Khlong Nok Yang no longer suitable for transporting water, laid in 1909, the district director Phraya Sattaya Nukun ( Choem ) the administration building to the coast in Tambon Na Kluea. On 21 October 1952, the administration building was completely destroyed by a storm. A temporary office was established initially in the school Bang Lamung along Sukhumvit Road ( Sukhumvit Road ). 1953 was built in the school grounds with government funding a new building. It is still there today.

Management

The circle is divided into eight Tambon ( sub-districts ), divide further into 61 villages ( Muban ).

Pattaya ( Thai: เมือง พัทยา ) as a city has a special administrative status and is therefore outside the ordinary scheme of Thai local government. It consists of parts of the tambon Nong Prue and Na Kluea, and parts of Huai Yai and Nong Pla Lai.

The large ( thesaban Nakhon ) Laem Chabang ( Thai: เทศบาล นคร แหลม ฉบัง ) is only partially in Amphoe Bang Lamung. Here she covers parts of the tambon Bang Lamung. The greater part of the city is located, however, in the neighboring district of Si Racha.

Nong Prue ( Thai: เทศบาล เมือง หนอง ปรือ ) is a city ( thesaban Mueang ), it consists of the parts of the tambon Nong Prue, do not belong to Mueang Pattaya.

  • Huai Yai ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ห้วย ใหญ่ ) consists of parts of the tambon Huai Yai,
  • Takhian Tia ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ตะเคียน เตี้ย ) consists of parts of the tambon Takhian Tia.

There are also five " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
