Bang Pa In ( Thai: บางปะอิน ) is the capital of the district of Bang Pa-In Ayutthaya province. The Ayutthaya province is located in the central region of Thailand.

Bang Pa In is also the name of the district ( Amphoe ) Bang Pa In.

Location

Bang Pa In is beautifully situated on an island in the Chao Phraya River about 50 kilometers north of the capital Bangkok, just south of the city of Ayutthaya. A pleasant journey offers a boat tour on the river.

History

The King Prasat Thong was born here, he was also a Buddhist temple, on the banks of a small lake to build a small castle that served the kings of Ayutthaya as a summer residence.
