Bang Pla Ma District
Amphoe Bang Pla Ma ( Thai อำเภอ บางปลาม้า ) is a district ( Amphoe ) in the southeastern part of the province of Suphanburi. The Suphanburi province is located in the west of central Thailand.
Geography
The neighboring Amphoe are from clockwise from the East: the Amphoe Phak Hai and Bang Sai Ayutthaya province Amphoe Song Phi Nong and, U Thong and Mueang Suphanburi Suphanburi province.
The main water resource of Bang Pla Ma is the Maenam Tha Chin ( Tha Chin River ), also called Maenam Suphan ( Suphan River ).
History
The county was established in 1897 by the then Governor Phra Samut Khana Nurak ( พระ สมุทร ค ณา นุ รักษ์ ).
The name Pla Ma ( ปลา ม้า ) is the Thai name of the Soldatquakfisches ( Nibea soldado ), which occurs here frequently.
Management
The district Bang Pla Ma is divided into 14 subdistricts (tambon ) divided that continue in 127 village communities ( Muban ) are divided. Within the district there are six places with small-town status ( thesaban tambon):
- Khok Khram ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล โคก คราม ) consists of parts of tambon Khok Khram,
- Bang Pla Ma ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บางปลาม้า ) consists of parts of the tambon Bang Pla Ma,
- Ban Laem ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บ้านแหลม ) consists of parts of tambon Ban Laem,
- Phai Kong Din ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ไผ่ กอง ดิน ) consists of parts of the Tambon Phai Kong Din,
- Khok Khram Phanna ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล โคก คราม พัฒนา ) also consists of parts of tambon Khok Khram,
- Takha ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ตะ ค่า ) consists of parts of the tambon Takha.
There are also 12 " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
