Bang Sue District

Bang Sue ( Thai: บางซื่อ, bā ː ŋ sɯ ː ) is one of the 50 districts (Khet ) of Bangkok, capital of Thailand. Bang Sue is a northern district, and is located midway between the center of the capital and the airport, Don Mueang.

Geography

Bang Sue is bounded on the north by Khlong Bang Khen, which also forms the border with the province of Nonthaburi, in the east of the railway station Bangkok Hua Lamphong - North Thailand, on the south by Khlong Bang Sue, and the west by the Chao Phraya River.

The neighboring districts are from clockwise from the East: Chatuchak, Phaya Thai, Dusit, Bang Phlat, in the province of Nonthaburi Bang Kruai and Mueang Nonthaburi.

Attractions

  • Rama VI. Bridge - the first bridge crossing the Chao Phraya River was officially opened on January 1, 1923 and after King Vajiravudh (Rama VI ). Named. The bridge is 442 meters long and 10 meters wide, it originally had two separate tracks for road and rail transport. During the Second World War, the bridge was heavily damaged after the reconstruction it was re-opened on 12 December 1953. In 1992, the road from the nearby Phra Pokklao Bridge ( Rama VII Bridge ) was taken, so that today only the railway crosses the bridge.

Transport

The Bang Sue station is also the only rail yard in Thailand. Also located there is now the terminus of the " Chaloem - Ratchamongkorn Line" subway Bangkok (Bangkok Metro).

Education

In the district of Bang Sue is the main campus of King Mongkut 's University of Technology North Bangkok.
