Bangor City F.C.

The Bangor City Football Club (Welsh: Clwb Pel Droed Dinas Bangor ) is a football club based in Bangor. The club was founded in 1876 as Bangor FC and plays in the League of Wales, the highest league in Welsh football.

History

Bangor City is one of the oldest Welsh football clubs. The club is a founding member of the North Wales Coast League (1893 ), the Welsh National League ( 1921), the North Wales Combination (1930 ), the Welsh League North (1935 ), the Northern Premier League ( 1968), the Alliance Premier League - today Football Conference ( 1979) - and finally, the League of Wales (1992).

1962 Bangor City won the Welsh Cup and qualified for the European Cup Winners' Cup. The club was drawn against Napoli, the high victory was capable of. Bangor won the first leg surprising 2-0.
