Bank Internasional Indonesia

The PT Bank Internasional Indonesia ( BII ) is a Founded in 1959, Indonesian banking group with headquarters in Jakarta. It is the sixth largest bank in Indonesia and owned by the family of Eka Widjaja Tjipta.

The Bank Internasional Indonesia is registered in the Cook Islands and offers deposit and investment banking, insurance, securities brokerage and related financial services, including retail banking, for example, the provision of credit card services and applications for electronic funds transfers. A special feature of the Bank represent financial services that meet the requirements of the Shariah. The Group has a main office, 60 branches and 122 sub- branches.

Since 1989, the Bank is listed. After the financial crisis of 1997, the bank wrote $ 9.7 billion loss and was subsequently taken over and recapitalized by the Indonesian government. End of 2003, the Government sold 56.8 % of the shares of the Bank at Sorak Financial Holdings, a consortium of foreign banks and investors, led by the Asia Financial Holdings. The management management of the Bank has also been transferred to the consortium.
