Bank of America Home Loans

Countrywide Financial Corporation was the largest mortgage lender in the United States. The company's headquarters was in Calabasas, California.

It was founded in 1969 by Angelo Mozilo and was listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol CFC and represented in the stock index S & P 500.

Due to the real estate crisis in the United States, Countrywide Financial was sold on 1 July 2008 by an exchange of shares in the U.S. company Bank of America. The company was renamed America Home Loans 2009.

On Thursday, June 4, 2009, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has filed suit against founder Angelo Mozilo and finance chief Eric Sieracki and Sambol David, who is responsible for the operational management of Countrywide filed. The three former managers accused of insider trading.
