The Bank of America Stadium (formerly known as Carolinas Stadium and Ericsson Stadium ) is a football stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. It serves as a venue for the football games of the NFL teams Carolina Panthers.

History

The stadium, originally known as Carolinas Stadium ( this name is also used for FIFA events ), opened in 1996 as Ericsson Stadium. 2004 the stadium received its current name when the Bank of America bought the naming rights for 20 years. Many fans refer to the stadium, therefore, also known as The Vault or The Bank.

Events

The stadium is used mostly for football games. Other notable events a Rolling Stones concert on 10 October 1997 and the NCAA Football Championship are 1999 and 2000. Billy Graham also held a meeting here on.
