Banneux

Banneux is a small village in the municipality Sprimont on the plateau of the Ardennes, southeast of Liège ( Liège) near Pepinster and spa. Banneux is known primarily as a place of pilgrimage.

Marian apparition

Mariette Beco died on 2 December 2011 at the age of 90 years in the retirement home "Home de la Vierge of Pauvres " in Banneux. She was married and had three children.

Banneux as a pilgrimage

Today Banneux is a much-visited pilgrimage site with a spa and a hospital hospice " Hospitality of Banneux Notre Dame " with over 300 beds. During the pilgrimage season from May to October, a Blessing of the sick pilgrims and several shows are held daily. The organization of the pilgrimage is from the GoE Banneux, la Vierge des Pauvres performed.
