Bantry House

Bantry House (Irish Teach Bheanntraí ) is a magnificent country house near Bantry Bantry Bay above the County Cork, Ireland.

The house was built around 1720 and is since 1750 home of the White family. They were appointed in 1818 to the Earl of Bantry. The interiors have furniture and objets d'art from all over Europe, the 2nd Earl of Bantry brought back from his trips to Europe. Interesting is especially the pink salon and the dining room. From the property there is a beautiful view over Bantry Bay. Before the house is an Italian garden.

Since 1946, the building is open to the public. In the years 2002 and 2004 the main rooms have been completely refurbished.
