Barajevo (Cyrillic: Барајево ) is a suburb of Belgrade, as the administrative capital of the Opština Barajevo.

History

Many water sources in the area of ​​current community work paved the way for its colonization. According to tradition, should once have been said long ago: " bara per ovo " - a pond is the ( bara = pond ). And so the name Barajevo, which has been preserved to the present day was.

The settlement dates from the time of the Ottoman administration under the name Baraj and during the Austrian occupation under the present name.
