Baraundha

Baraundha ( Baraunda, Barannda, also Pathar - Kachhar ) was a princely state of the Central India Agency in the region of Bundelkhand of British India in what is now the state of Madhya Pradesh. The Principality of Raghuvansi - Rajputs existed since the 16th century. Baraundha 1807-1947 was a British protectorate. Thakur Raghubir Dayal Singh ( 1874-86 ) was raised in 1877 for Raja.

Baraundha had in 1901 an area of 565 km ² and 16,000 inhabitants. On April 4, 1948, the Raja of the princely union Vindhya Pradesh joined and took place on 1 January 1950 following India. On November 1, 1956 all princely states were dissolved and Vindhya Pradesh the state of Madhya Pradesh incorporated.
