Baraza la Kiswahili la Taifa

The National Swahilirat Tanzania ( Swahili: Baraza la Kiswahili la Taifa [ Bakita ], English: National Swahili Council Tanzania ) is the national language institute for Swahili in Tanzania. Its mission is to actively promote the development and preservation of the language, even in regard to the management tasks of the state and use in all areas of public life. This is intended to contribute to nation-building in Tanzania, Swahili is seen as one of the common elements, which helps bridge the ethnic diversity and opposition in the country.

It deals with, among other things, with the publication of lists of words, which summarizes the Swahili words for specific subject areas, and thus takes normalizing influence on the language.
