Barb Jungr

Barb Jungr ( born May 9, 1954 in Rochdale, England) is a singer with Czech and German ancestors. She is best known as an interpreter of songs in the French tradition and European cabarets. It is to recreate capable, Jazz standards and other classical models as well as new songs in their own style.

Life

Barb Jungrs father was a Czech scientist Miroslav Jungr, the mother was the nurse Ingrid German Jungr. She grew up in Stockport.

In the 1970s she moved to London, where she was part of the alternative cabaret scene with her vocal harmony group The Three Courgettes. Then she went into a cooperation with Michael Parker regarding song writing and composition. Together they went on Tournees and took a series of albums. They worked together with the comedians Julian Clary and Arnold Brown, Alexei Sayle supported and were present in radio and television.

In 2002, she produced the album Every Grain Of Sand with Linn Records with new arrangements of the songs of Bob Dylan. In 2005 she produced the record Love Me Tender with songs by Elvis Presley, 2008, the Plate Just Like A Woman - Hymn To Nina, where she reinterpreted the songs of Nina Simone.
