Barbara Bain

Barbara Bain, actually Mildred Fogel, (* September 13, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois ) is an American actress. She became famous by the television series Mission: Impossible and take Moonbase Alpha 1

Life

Barbara Bain attended the University of Illinois and completed her studies with distinction in sociology and psychology. Then she moved to New York to study dance with Martha Graham. However, since this was not financially lucrative, she initially began working as a model, but she found no fulfillment in this career.

In 1955 she then took acting classes with Martin Landau, who was a student at the Actors Studio at this time. After initial antipathy to the two came closer and got married on 31 January 1957. The marriage produced two daughters were born, film producer Susan Landau Finch and the actress Juliet Landau.

Barbara Bain and Martin Landau then played some time together theater and ultimately moved to Los Angeles, where her husband was obliged by the director Alfred Hitchcock for the film North by Northwest.

At this time Barbara Bain was more concerned with the education of her two daughters, but distinguished himself by some television appearances.

In 1966, she then got one of the four main characters in the series Mission: Impossible take; her husband Martin Landau was initially involved only as a recurring guest star and only joined regular basis starting in the second season with the team. The series was a hit with the public and Barbara Bain was especially very popular with the female audience. She became the first woman three Emmy Awards in a row.
