Barbara Crampton

Barbara Crampton (* December 27, 1958 in Levittown, Long Iceland, New York ) is an American actress and Scream Queen.

Life

Crampton was born in Levittown, Long Iceland, New York and grew up in Vermont, where her father worked as Polari at fairs and carnivals. It began with the actors in the 7th grade class and began acting classes at her high school. Crampton received her Bachelor of Arts at Castleton State College in Vermont.

Acting Career

After she had completed her acting training, she went back to New York and played Cordelia in King Lear at the American Theater of Actors.

Crampton worked from 1976 to 1981 at Castleton State College.

The early 80s, she left New York and moved to Los Angeles. There she began her film acting career and became famous as a scream queen in the cult horror film Re-Animator, From Beyond and Castle Freak. She also had small roles in Puppet Master and Fraternity Vacation. In 1986, she was together with Kelli Maroney in Jim Wynorskis cult film Chopping Mall in front of the camera, which finally gave her breakthrough as a Scream Queen. In May 2010, she was part of the " Re-Animator Reunion" on the Creation's Weekend of Horrors. Rob Zombie in October 2011 she was casting for the role of Virginia Cable in his thriller The Lords of Salem.

Her first role as a television actress, she had as Trista Evans Bradford in the drama series Days of Our Lives. From 1987 to 1993, she portrayed Leanna Love in the Restless, where she won the Soap Opera Digest Award. She returned in 1998 in the series back and played her role as Leanna Love to 2002. Between 2006 and 2007 she returned again for a few episodes in the series and the Restless back. Crompton played Melinda Lewis of 1993-1995 in Springfield story. Modeling career

On October 1, 1988, she married cinematographer David Boyd, the couple settled in 1990 but divorced again. In April 1995, Crampton announced that she is in a relationship with actor and director Kristoffer Tabori. The couple lived until his separation in September 1995 together in Los Angeles.
