Barbara Hale

Barbara Hale ( born April 18, 1922 in DeKalb, Illinois ) is an American actress of Irish- Scottish origin.

Career

Although she gave her film debut in 1943, she had her first major success until 1948 in The boy with the green hair. A year later she starred in the thriller The eerie window. In 1950, she was the partner of James Stewart in adventures of a Pechvogels and 1953 by Rock Hudson in Seminola. In later years, Hale appeared predominantly in television on productions. So she played from 1957 to 1966 the secretary Della Street, Perry Mason. The other main characters on their side were Raymond Burr ( Perry Mason), William Hopper ( Paul Drake ), William Talman (Hamilton Burger ) and Ray Collins (Lt. Arthur Tragg ). Also in the Perry Mason films between 1985 and 1995 she played again next Raymond Burr Della Street.

Hale was awarded in 1959 for her role in Perry Mason won an Emmy, a further nomination for the Emmy followed in 1961. Hale 2001 received the Golden Boot Award. She also has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (1620 Vine Street ).

Hale was married from 1946 until his death in 1992 with actor Bill Williams. The couple has three children together. Her son William Katt is also a well known actor. She is a follower of the Baha'i faith.
