Barbara Jefford

Barbara Jefford OBE ( born July 26, 1930 in Plymstock, Devon, England) is a British actress.

She is primarily known for her theatrical performances with the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Old Vic Theatre, and the Royal National Theatre. She is also known in English-speaking also for her role as Molly Bloom in the British film Ulysses.

Life

Mary Barbara Jefford was born in southwestern England, and also grew up there. She attended the Weirfield school in Taunton, Somerset before moving to London to visit the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, where she ( German: Bancroft Gold Medal) and the Bancroft Gold Medal was awarded.

1946, while still a student, she had small roles in the British radio show Westward Ho!. She made her stage debut but she had in 1949, when they in William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night ( German: Twelfth Night ) played the viola. In the film The Shoes of the Fisherman (1968 ) she played the frantic doctor Dr. Ruth Faber, whose husband, a well-known reporter maintains a relationship with a young woman in Rome.

In Germany it is mainly known as Baroness Kessler in Roman Polanski's film The Ninth Gate (1999). In 2011 she was seen in a small role in The Deep Blue Sea.
