Barbara Jelić-Ružić

Barbara Jelic Ruzic ( born Jelic; born May 8, 1977 in Novo mesto, SR Slovenia ) is a former Croatian volleyball national team.

Barbara Ruzic measures 1.93 meters and moved at the age of 17 years in the highly doped Japanese League, where they remained for five years and repeatedly received the award as the best player in different categories.

On the outside and diagonal position play led the Croatian national team, with her father Ivica Jelic as national coach to three silver medals at the European Championships 1995, 1997 and 1999, as well as a sensational seventh place at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney and a sixth place at the 1998 World Cup in Japan. Here, Barbara Ruzic made ​​often collect more points than all her teammates. So she was, among other things at the 1998 World Championships, the World Cup in 1999 and the Olympic qualification points best collector. It was fully deserved elected in 1998, 1999 and 2000 as the best volleyball player in Europe.

After her time in Japan, she starred in the Italian and Turkish league - where she interrupted her career - when she became a mother before she announced her departure in 2004. Persuaded by her father, she roamed the national team at the 2005 European Championship on home soil once again about to motivate young players. After a convincing third place in the preliminary round Group A eighth place was reached.
