Barbara Krug

Barbara Krug ( born May 6, 1956 in Leipzig ) is a German track and field athlete and Olympic medal winner, who - starting for the GDR - in the late 1970s to 1980 was one of the world's best 400-meter runners.

Her biggest success is the silver medal at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow with the 4 x 400 - meter relay of the GDR ( 3:20,35 min, together with Gabriele Löwe, Marita Koch and Christina Lathan ).

In 1978, with the 4 x 400 -meter relay in the GDR European Champion ( 3:21,2 min, together Christiane Marquardt, Marita Koch and Christina Brehmer ). In 1979 she won the 4 x 400 - meter relay in both the world - as well as the European Cup final.
