Barbara Loden

Barbara Loden ( born July 8, 1932 in Marion, North Carolina, USA, † 5 September 1980 in New York City ) was an American actress, screenwriter and director.

Life

Barbara Loden worked in the late 40s, first as a model. Her film debut had in Wilder current ( 1960), a film by Elia Kazan, who gave her in 1961 in Splendor in a bigger role. In 1967 she married Kazan. On her last feature film Wanda in 1970 she was a screenwriter, director and lead actress. Then she taught mainly drama students and wrote screenplays. In 1980, she died unexpectedly from cancer.
