Barbara Stollberg-Rilinger

Barbara Stollberg Rilinger ( born July 17, 1955 in Bergisch Gladbach ) is a German historian.

From 2004 to 2008 she was Deputy Chairman of the Association of Historians of Germany.

In recognition of its achievements in 2005 she was awarded the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft. In the same year she became a member of the Historical Commission for Westphalia. In 2006 she became a member of the Historical Commission of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences. In 2007 she received an honorary doctorate from the École Normale Supérieure Lettres et sciences humaines, Lyon (France). In addition, it was awarded the Order of Merit on Ribbon 2007. Since 2009 she has been a full member of the Berlin -Brandenburg Academy of Sciences, corresponding member of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Sciences in Göttingen.
