It is in the middle of a prairie Country Parks ( since 1971 ) or Local Nature Reserve (since 2004)

Description

The Hill further consists of two, in places up to four concentric annular walls which are separated from each other by trenches. The height difference between trough and crest is today in places more than 8 m. To the west and east of the walls are pierced to allow level access. To the east of the entrance is protected by two much smaller semi-circular rings. The inner diameter of the east-west direction is less than 200 meters in a north-south direction is about 120 m, the area including the ramparts is just over 11 acres ( approximately 4.5 hectares)

History

The system was created by a Celtic tribe of Iron Age to circa 600 BC as a protection against hostile neighboring tribes.

Besides finds from the Iron Age also objects from the Roman period have been found during excavations, without that there is more evidence that the place has been colonized by Romans.
