Barcaldine, Queensland

Barcaldine is a small town in Queensland, Australia, about 520 kilometers west of Rockhampton. The city is the administrative seat of the local government area ( LGA) Barcaldine Region. There live 1337 people in the town, whose main source of income is wool and grazing. The city's name is sheep - loading station Barcaldine Downs back, named after Barcaldine in Scotland.

History

Barcaldine played an important role in the founding of the Australian Labor Party.

Attractions

The main attraction was the Tree of Knowledge, who was standing outside the station. 2006, however, the tree was poisoned with herbicides.
