Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art

The Museu of Contemporary Art of Barcelona ( MACBA ) is a contemporary art museum in Barcelona.

Already In 1959, Alexandre Cirici Pellicer a club with the goal in Barcelona set up a museum of contemporary art, the museum itself was founded in 1988 and on 28 November 1995 building was designed by American architect Richard Meier designed opened.

The museum contains mostly art from the second half of the 20th century and works of many contemporary artists. 2011 on appropriated the daughters of the Catalan photographer Xavier Miserachs the archive of the 1998 dead with over 80,000 negatives to the museum.

The museum changes its exhibitions every three to four months.

La Capella

Since 2006, the MACBA has in the former Convent dels Angels a showroom in the former chapel. 2011 was to see the German artist Natascha Sadr Haghighian there installing De Paso.
