Bardonnex

Bardonnex is a municipality in the canton of Geneva in Switzerland.

To the municipality in the south of Canton on the French- Swiss border includes the villages and hamlets Bardonnex, Charrot, Croix -de- Rozon, Compesières, Landecy, La Mure and Cugny.

In the municipality is the highway customs office of the A1, which merges smoothly into the A401 on the French side, a short branch of the French motorway A40, which passes south of the Canton of Geneva.

History

1153 the populated in Roman times Bardonnex was mentioned as Bardonacum. From 1536 to 1567 Bardonnex was under Bernese rule, before it came to Savoy. 1754 arrived in Turin Bardonnex contract to the Kingdom of Sardinia. 1816 came Bardonnex as a community Compesières finally to the Canton of Geneva and in 1851 independently, were divided as Compesières in the communities Bardonnex and Plan-les- Ouates.
