Bardowiek

Bardowiek is a deserted village on the former inner German border in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It is located about two kilometers from Lübeck's city limits in the district of North West Mecklenburg. The transformer house is the unique construction.

History

1292, the village was first mentioned in Ratzeburg hooves register with nine hooves. In the Thirty Years' War largely destroyed, the town was rebuilt in 1648. 1817 two Büdnereien were built. Bardowiek had about 40 residents and was in GDR times within the five -mile-wide exclusion zone boundary. 1960 all farms were collectivized in the LPG Palingen. In 1977 the first farms were demolished in 1989 and the last building. After the fall of former residents wanted to build the village. It came with the municipality Selmsdorf to litigation about multiple instances in which documents the construction advocates.

On 26 May 2007, the artist Vanya Tolko inaugurated its installation Bardowiek border area. This should be set up for two years. The installation included the mark it with red and white marker poles made ​​site of the former Kuhlmann 's house along with information board.
