Bardu

Bardu is a municipality in northern Norway in the province (county ) Troms.

It comprises several settlements. The capital and administrative seat is the place Setermoen. Setermoen is the largest garrison town in Norway, and the Norwegian army is also the largest employer in the region. In Bardu there is also a " Polar Zoo " can be seen in the sub-Arctic species such as bears and wolves. Furthermore, with the Altevatnet is also the largest lake in the Fylke on the territory of the municipality.

In recent years Bardu has produced several internationally successful Nordic combined, the best known probably Fred Børre Lundberg. A daughter of the municipality is the writer Sissel Solbjørg Bjugn (* 1947). Sister city is the Bavarian town of Füssen.
