The Bardo Mountains ( Gory Polish Bardzkie ) is located in the Sudetes in south-western Poland. It forms an edge of the mountains Glatzer boiler over Silesia and is situated between the Owl and the Reichensteiner Mountains. Its name derives from the pilgrimage town of Bardo ( Bardo Polish ), is outside the country Glatzer and powiat Ząbkowicki ( Frankenstein ) belongs.

Geography and Geology

The Bardo Mountains is 18 kilometers long and stretches from the pass of Silberberg ( Przełęcz Srebrena; 583 m) above by Silver Mountain in a southeasterly direction to the pass of Neudeck ( Przełęcz Kłodzka ) at Podzamek ( Neudeck ) east of Kłodzko ( Glatz ).

Above Warta it is broken by the Glatzer Neisse, which here forms a steep valley and so the Bardo Mountains into an eastern and a western part separates. Through this valley extend the essential transport links of Glatzer boiler to the north.

The covered with coniferous forest mountain consists of deposits of the Kulm - Sea ( Lower Carboniferous ), gray wax sandstone and shale. In Wilcza ( Wiltsch ) to Silurian shale find in thin layers.
