Barney and his friends (Original Title: Barney & Friends ) is a successful American television series. The target audience are preschoolers.

Barney was created in 1987 by Sheryl Leach. He is a purple dinosaur, not dissimilar together with other plush dinosaurs and (real) children, Sesame Street, conveys with his songs and upbeat friendly attitude learning content.

Parodies

In the Simpsons episode in the clutches of a cult a parody of Barney is seen. The Simpsons are in this episode followers of an obscure sect in connection with the indoctrination of its member disciple is televised Barney to see the number of children a song with the text " We love him, he loves us, he is our leader Hunzelpunz " sings. Also in the Beavis & Butthead episode of the Tornado program is parodied by a Barney -like figure bakes something and sing at the process catches fire. Furthermore, Barney was called in the television series The Dinos as " Blödie ".
