Barnin

Barnin is a municipality in the northeast of the county Ludwigslust - Parchim in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ). It is administered by the Office Crivitz, located in the eponymous city.

Geography and transport

The municipality is located north of state road 321, the Federal Highway 14 (about 15 km ) is accessible via the junction Schwerin -east. Barnin is located about three kilometers north-east of Crivitz. The place is located on the southeast shore of the lake Barniner. The Warnow flows through the municipal area. In the eastern part of the municipality lies the forest area Barniner fir and to the south the Eichholz. In the latter located at 88.2 m above sea level. NHN, the highest point in the municipality.

Quarters are Barnin and yard Barnin.

History

In 1362, the village was first mentioned in documents as Barnyn. The name comes from the Old Slavic Bruno and means Sumpfort. Barnin belonged to a Baldwin of Lobecke and the County of Schwerin was assigned.

The coat of arms was approved by the Home Office in July 2012.

The deer in the coat of arms is derived from the coat of arms of the family of Lobecke, who were the first documented detectable owner of the place. The Wellenschildfuß and the fish refer to the long tradition of fishing in Barniner lake through which the river Warnow flows.

The coat of arms was designed largely by the artist Volkert Krietsch from Barnin.

Flag

The flag of the municipality Barnin is longitudinally striped of blue, yellow and blue. The blue stripes take it each quarter, the yellow stripe one -half the height of the flag cloth. In the middle of the yellow stripe is, 7/8 of the strip engaging, a figure of the municipality coat of arms: a black border deer. In the middle of the lower blue stripe is, 5/8 of the strip engaging, a figure of the municipality coat of arms: a white fish. The height of the flag cloth is related to the length as 2 to 3
