Baron Graves

Baron Graves, of Gravesend, in the County of Londonderry, is a British hereditary title of nobility in the Peerage of Ireland, which is led by the Graves family.

Award

The title was created in 1794 for the Admiral Thomas Graves. This was the deputy fleet commander in the naval battle at the " Glorious First of June" and had been wounded there, so he had to retire from active service.
