Baron Harding of Petherton

Baron Harding of Petherton, of Nether Compton in the County of Dorset, is a British hereditary title of nobility in the Peerage of the United Kingdom, which is run by the family Harding.

Award

The title was created in 1958 for Field Marshal Sir John Harding. This was a famous officer in World War II and in the postwar period. Among other things, he commanded the British Army of the Rhine, and was Chief of the Imperial General Staff. Finally, he served as Governor of Cyprus.
