Baron Shaughnessy

Baron Shaughnessy, of the City of Montreal in the Dominion of Canada and of Ashford in the County of Limerick, is a British hereditary title of nobility in the Peerage of the United Kingdom, which is run by the family Shaughnessy.

Award

The title was created in 1916 for the Canadian railway contractor Thomas Shaughnessy. He was 1899-1918 President of the Canadian Pacific Railway and ensured in particular that the company supported the Canadian war effort in the First World War.
