Baron Swaythling

Baron Swaythling, of Swaythling in the County of Southampton, is a British hereditary title of nobility in the Peerage of the United Kingdom, which is run by the family of Montagu.

Award

The title was created in 1907 for the prominent Jewish banker Sir Samuel Montagu. This was for 15 years a member of the House of Commons. He was a member of the Liberal Party.

Another title

The first Baron was a baronet in 1894, of Swaythling in the County of Southampton, collected. This title, which belongs to the Baronetage of the United Kingdom is led by the respective Baron.
